Lamictal Uses. For those 18 years and older, Lamictal is used for maintenance treatment of bipolar disorder to reduce the occurrence of mood episodes. Although not formally indicated, Lamictal may also be prescribed for other aspects of bipolar disorder and other mood disorders.
