Gmc acadia shift to park fix
Automatic transmission. 54,000 miles. Our 2018 Acadia SLT1 has a known issue with the park shift message that won't let me turn off the car. GMC dealer, Coulter Cad/GMC, made the repair in 7/2019 and now 4/2021, 20K miles later, the same problem and they tell me the work they performed isn't guaranteed. I own a 2010 GMC Acadia SLE, 4 wheel drive. I'm having a similar issue. While driving randomly not really on que it will go from drive to park and cycle multi times while the locks going crazy. Assuming locks are tied to shifter because during normal operation the doors unlock when parked, and lock when shifting into drive.

Have been advised that GM now recognizes the problem to be with the micro switch used in the shifter to indicated that it is in fact in Park. The fix is replacement of the shift mechanism, not the harness. The replacement shifter has an improved micro switch.
