Aug 13, 2020 · Found something involving turning the engine on, then the lights on, pressing the Trip switch 4 times, then do the same after lights off/lights on again and 4 Trip presses, and that was for non-Crosstreks and about 6 years ago... Did not work, but maybe there's some method now to get the codes without a scanner for a 2019 Crosstrek. To fix it, remove the gas cap and then put it back on, tightening it until it clicks. It may take a few drives before your Subaru recognizes the fix and the check engine light turns off. Other common reasons why you check engine light may come on in your Subaru include: Oxygen Sensor.
