Feb 20, 2009 · Ok well i had this problem a few months ago after i installed new rims on my W211 E270 CDI, i got the car serviced the other-day and the following occurred again. Following Warnings: 1. ESP Defective ( Visit Workshop ) 2. SpeedTronic Malfunction. 3. Check Brakes. The other problem is the car is draining its own battery, I do a few longs trips ... Could be a bad battery / charging system. Could be a bad fuse connection for the brake lights (at the driver's side of the dashboard). It is best to get the car scanned and check fault codes from the traction (ESP) module. Basic scanners cannot do this. The ESP is clearly still functioning and the car's performance seems to be unaffected.
