After being largely carried as an invisible character, Edith was written out as having suffered a stroke and died off-camera in the following season, leaving Archie to deal with the death of his beloved "dingbat". 89-70 Cooper Avenue was Archie Bunker’s house, featured in the opening credits of All In The Family.
