A 1979 SAA would be 3rd Generation. I think plain smooth Walnut stocks would be correct for that vintage. Sometime in the mid to late 1980s I think Colt started using walnut stocks with gold or silver medallions. I have two 3rd Generation 4 3/4" SAAs with Nickel finish.
