I did appear to run into another firmware bug though where the display will start switching inputs on its own until disabling auto switch. I found a Firmware Update ( Ver. M3B102) for the Alienware AW3423DWF (The Free-Sync version of the DW) on the Dell Downloadcenter. It will fix loud fan noise after prolong use. So yeah, the AW3423DWF will allow firmware updates but is confirmed to have a fan for cooling. For the calibration, I chose observer: CIE 2012 2*. For color temp I set it to 6500. I have my white level at 130 nits based on person preference. The monitor I have set to a custom color profile, and have only adjusted the brightness, and color gain for Red, Gree, and Blue.
