Aug 5, 2015 · This is the cylinder block in the 57 wagon in my profile photo. I took the pictures during final assembly of the engine. It is important to note that this block is NOT a 4 bolt block. It is a 2 bolt original 327 block, although I understand that 3970010 was also used for 302's and 350's which also have a 4" bore. Driver. re: 3970010. Can you post the id letters and numbers that you see on the engine block on the the small extension of the block surface just below and ahead of the head on the passenger side. If you're looking at the engine code - this is already known. If you're looking at the casting # information and it mentions 3970010 "A/F/X/Y/B".... basically this means "it's used in everything", whereas if it simply states "Y"... this means Corvette.
